Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actor. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington from Ohio dropped out high school, and relocating into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. She landed her debut role as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. The television film Murder in Greenwich that she appeared in, where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and she shared a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) with her. After leaving the show, Grace would like to be as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) on Suburban Girl and The Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). In addition, she played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part as Shannon in Lost for two episodes, including the finale of the series. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season which ran from 2013 to the year 2014. She plays Faith as an admirer and muse to the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is part of the Gyllenhaal family and is the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens, she played small parts in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her sister in Donnie Darko which is a cult classic. Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her performances as the lead in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) and Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) that earned their Golden Globe Award nods. After several commercially successful films in 2006 including World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). The role she played in Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent earned her nomination to the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she starred in comedies and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. Alongside her work as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). One of her most recent roles were her character as the primary protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal made her writing and directed debut in the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
